Key Outcomes & Speakers
Identify common physiological cues that emerge during EMDR processing and match physiological cues to autonomic nervous system states/interventions
Learn core principles of somatic and sensorimotor-informed therapy
Gain practical skills in somatic-informed resourcing and sensorimotor-informed interweaves
Implement sensorimotor-informed interweaves in Phase 4 that support AIP without overriding processing.

The Nervous System is Talking...Are We Listening?
When we were taught to “stay out of the way,” did that accidentally become… checking out between sets? What if staying out of the way actually means honoring organicity while staying deeply attuned? In this training, we focus on tracking real-time nervous system cues: • Resourcing cues (Phase 2) • AIP cues (Phase 4) • State-dependent physiological memory (tension, micro-movement, orienting, defensive impulses) • Window of Tolerance shifts (early hyper/hypo indicators) Between sets is not downtime. It’s data. Micro-movements. Breath shifts. Posture. Tears. Tension (often a precursor to movement). Orienting responses. Instead of dropping what can feel like random contact statements and interweaves, we respond to what the nervous system is showing us- supporting dual awareness, co-regulation and AIP without interrupting processing. This training integrates EMDR with principles from Sensorimotor Psychotherapy® (as developed by the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute), including experimentality, organicity, and non-interpretive tracking.
About the Workshop
Join us for a live, online training designed for EMDR clinicians seeking to deepen their ability to track nervous system cues and integrate somatic-informed strategies that support regulation and Adaptive Information Processing (AIP). Disclaimer: This course incorporates somatic concepts and interventions inspired by Sensorimotor Psychotherapy to support EMDR clinicians. It is not an official Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute (SPI) training and does not confer certification or endorsement from SPI.
